Dennis Martire

Since 1990, Dennis Martire has worked with the Laborers’ International Union of North America. A member of his local Pittsburgh union, #1058, Martire was personally connected to the plight often felt by laborers around the world. He applied his own feelings toward the job in addition to his education -- a Bachelor of Science degree earned at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He began with LIUNA as an international representative for the jurisdictional disputes department. But from there, his advancement was quick and upward as he achieved successes for laborers across the mid-Atlantic area of the United States.

Among Dennis Martire’s triumphs was aiding workers of a Route 495 Hot Lanes Project come together to form a local union. Martire also played a critical role in the passing of a fair wage law for working families in Montgomery County, Maryland. And these are just a few of Martire’s wins as a LIUNA employee -- wins that truly resonate for those he serves every single day.
